Who switched off the lights??

I had 17 km on my program this morning. I met up with RA and we headed out around the park at 5.30 am. It was still really dark so we done the first two laps around the inside fence without really noticing that we'd done it. Neither of us tripped which I think deserves a medal !!! After doing 3 laps around the inside RA headed off for home and I headed outside the park to do a loop around the outside around Moore Park, SCG etc. All up managed 17.5 km and was feeling pretty good when I finished. I saw a guy running today who had army pants and a big army back pack on, and was curious as to what he might have been training for.

Hopefully heading to the gym later to do some strength work.

Bit lazy...

I have been down the coast at my parents place the last few days and I have to admit I have been a little lazy (only with the running). I have been going on some shorter runs to try and get used to my orthodics but I missed my long run on Sunday. I'm giving my shins some TLC at the moment so getting into my orthodics properly is my main priority. I went for a few walks with my Dad over the weekend which he loved as he usually only has my dog for company.

I missed the session this morning as I got back to Sydney too late. I headed out for a run around the park and managed 10km at 5.53/km pace. I felt a little crap after having a few sort of days off but I'm looking forward to my longer run tomorrow morning.

I'll be doing some pilates this afternoon to try and stretch out a little.

Happy 25th Anniversary to my parents today :)

Shorter reps...YAYY

I was really looking forward to the session yesterday morning as I wanted to compare it to camp. When we were getting ready for the session Sean told us we would be doing them in reverse to normal, which surprisingly did feel a litle wierd.

I had 7 reps of 500m and managed to finish them in 2.10, 2.10, 2.11, 2.12, 2.12, 2.11, 2.13. My garmin was measuring a little more for each rep between 510m and 515m, which in hindsight I think may have been because when on the home stretch I was running up to the path rather than staying in a straight line rather than the course being wrong. I have never done a 500m session before so I dont have anything to compare it with so I am happy with that. The last 3 were pretty hard as I didnt even really feel my hear rate come down before we were heading off for another rep. In the last one most people were giving it all they had, whereas I seemed to fade a little and didnt have much left in the tank.

I finished off with a cool down lap around the inside of the white fence with a total of 8km for the day.

This morning I headed out for a nice recovery 5km around Croome Rd in Albion Park. I was giving my orthodics a bit of a whirl and they seemed to go OK. I am feeling pretty tight so I will need to make sure I do loads of stretching over the weekend. I was going to be making my Striders debut tomorrow and chasing a 10km PB but I really think I need to be staying off the road. It seems as though there is a 10km race almost every weekend over winter so there is plenty of time to chase a PB.

Voluntary wild wally

I had an hour on the program this morning so I headed over to Centennial Park to continue staying on the grass. I really wanted to do a hilly run but there is no-where to run in the Eastern Suburbs that is hilly and on grass. So I headed around the inside loop but when I got to the side of the park where we do our Wild Wally sessions I done some zig zagging up and down the hill and also up to the Paddington gates to get in some hill work. Ended up completing the 10km a little quicker than on schedule with an average of 5.50/km.

When I got home I finished off with some strength work with the medicine ball and some pilates from my DVD.

A lovely day to not be in the office.......

I missed the SWEAT session this morning as I had a really bad night last night. So after sorting a few things out this morning I headed over to Centennial Park at about lunch time to do my session. I was going to do the time trial on my own but I knew with no-one to chase it probably wouldnt be the most productive session. I had Dean with me on the first lap around the park and we averaged 7.30/km. I headed around on the second lap myself and averaged 5.08/km. With a little extra I managed 8km. We then headed out for 4 laps around the outside on our bikes. It was a beautiful day in the park with the sun shining, however, there was a bit of a wind coming through which made it a little scary for me on the bike.

After having a nice lunch at Clovelly we come home to play a little soccer in Christison Park. I should sleep well tonight !!
